Acupuncture and Chinese herbs are the foundation of Traditional Chinese Medicine
(TCM) which is a complete medical system used to diagnose, treat and prevent
illness for thousands of years. Traditional Chinese Medicine can remedy ailments
and harmonize the mind. Some conditions that may be treated by TCM incude pain,
stress, digestive, disorders, respiratory ailments, cardiovascular conditions,
skin ailments, urogenital problems as well as gynecological issues.
Acupuncture
embodies the treatment of internal organs to the corresponding channels associated
with those organs. Acupuncture points are located along these channels in small
depressions in the skin called “gates.” With acupuncture, these
gates are opened and closed to regulate circulation in the channels and to
expel pathogenic influences thus invigorating and balancing the body.
Chinese herbs are extremely versatile in their function. Herbs are prescribed
as preventatives to strengthen our constitution as well as remedies for illness.
Chinese herbs can address symptoms of an illness as well as the root of the
disease. The goal of every prescription is to balance the ingredients in order
to balance the body.
